Highlights of the Ministry

Destiny’s Destiny…A Miracle!

She was one of the children that crossed over the bridge to make a commitment to Christ.  When we gave her a bible, she clutched it in her little hands as if it was the most important present she ever received.  Just eight years old, very much like many other little girls, she could have gone unnoticed but she was someone special.

As we packed up our gear and started to leave after the outreach, we saw a little girl dart out into the traffic. Suddenly, to our horror, we saw little Destiny hit by a speeding car.  The sound of the impact was deafening. Surely she must have been killed, we thought.  We immediately ran to her and knelt and prayed for Jesus to intervene and give her His healing touch.  Miraculously, after the paramedics examined her, she got up and walked away, without any injury…still clutching her bible.

299 Children Give Their Lives To Christ!

We prayed for 100 children to come to our Easter outreach and the Lord brought us over 300! We only had 200 Easter baskets to hand out to the children, but God’s multiplication took place and amazingly every child went home with a gift. As the call was given to commit their lives to Christ, each child was prayed over individually. There were 299 who came to cross over the little bridge and have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life (our big white book replicates the book depicted in Revelation 21).

Where Do You Find Wisdom?

Many of the children we encounter are certainly street smart.  It’s required just to survive on the streets. But when asked about wisdom, they don’t understand, it’s out of their frame of reference. As a matter of fact, most children are not taught wisdom these days. That is one of the reasons we teach the commandments and the Word of God.

At our Valentine’s outreach, we challenged the kids with the question, “who has your heart?“  They then came forward to give their hearts to Jesus. We also asked the children how many wanted to be successful? They all raised their hands. We then told them about Samuel, David and Solomon and how God imparted wisdom to them. He made them wise in their youth, protected them and blessed each step of their life. It gave these children a frame of reference to understand wisdom and evaluate good and evil, right and wrong.  In Psalms, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes we find invaluable tools to help us make right, Godly, decisions. It is amazing to see how responsive these children are to embrace the truths of God’s word.

It May Have Been Her Last Chance:

A few years back we helped a women who was in need and had the opportunity to share the gospel with her.  Recently, we discovered that the same women had been murdered.  We never know what will happen to those we tell about Jesus.  But thanks be to God He gives everyone a chance to receive or reject Him. Many times we’ve seen a hand raised in response to Christ’s pardon for sins and a few days later that person is found dead.

Children…How Do They Survive!

We see the abuse daily.  A young girl only twelve years old is regularly beaten and abused. Little children taken advantage of, molested, abandoned, neglected and exposed to far more than any child should have to endure.

At a recent outreach we picked up children to bus them to a special event for the day. A mother of three small children tried to get us to take her baby as well as the older children. She just wanted to be free of the responsibility for a while. We explained that a baby needs it’s mother.  She really didn’t seem to care. It’s a stark reality that these kids have no childhood.  Their instinct is to survive so they adapt to their environment. Many children will cling to us, not wanting us to leave without them.  They respond so quickly to the love of Jesus. It’s the missing ingredient in their hard neglected little lives.

Fishing For Men-

Let’s get ready for the greatest fishing expedition ever as we take the Cross out into the streets.  As we evangelized in a poor gang infested neighborhood recently, it was so evident that the favor of God was with us.  We had a great reception everywhere we went and the doors were wide open. It reminded us of what Charles Spurgeon once said, “If the preaching of the gospel does not save men, nothing will.”
2 Corinthians 2:14

This year we are committed to the battle, by hurling grenades into the enemy’s camp.  We are going into the highways and byways for the souls of men, women and children who are lost. Let’s be like Esther who said, “If I perish, I perish.” When we have that kind of determination and resolve we are sure to have God’s blessing upon our work.  If you can’t be a goer, than be a sender (Ephesians 5:16).  Let’s all partake in the harvest.

Victors Or Victims?

A new area of ministry has emerged at Angels for Christ consistent with our mission “to set the captives free” (Isaiah 61).  So many of today’s youth (even adults) become victims in the area of finance, because they have never been taught how to handle credit and finance. We’ve started presenting finance seminars to equip and educate them with this much needed information. All of the training is based on scripture, where secular material is fused with Godly principles of wisdom and ethics.  The testimonies and response from those who’ve attended these seminars has validated the need for this new ministry.
