Mission: Bring Jesus To The People!
We pray as we go out for a book of Acts anointing.
At our last outreach, we met a young married couple living with their five children in a motel. We invited them to join us as we took a bus load of children and teenagers to a large youth meeting. At the meeting, the Spirit of the Lord flooded the place with His presence. As hundreds of young people went forward for salvation, this young father with his wife and children were among them. We stood amazed as he lifted his 13 day old son in the air, as if presenting him to God, and watched as the entire family marched together in unity toward the front of the auditorium to commit their lives to Jesus Christ! Hugh Black our minister in Great Britain who went to be with the Lord this year, writes in one of his books, Consider Him, “that the true man or woman of God does not draw people to himself but to God. He leaves them with a consciousness of God.” We give Christ the credit for all of these things we write about. The Jesus factor is the solution, the only solution that can truly change a person’s heart.
When our bus returned the group to their motel that night, Don prayed a father’s blessing over the youth. Many of these young men do not even know their fathers, or have a bad relationship with
them. These young men realized that even though they had no earthly father, they now have a real father, a perfect father in Jesus Christ.
As we continued to pray with them afterwards, we sensed a
mighty anointing on the young man who had come with his family.
We believe God has something special for his life. It felt as though a preacher had been birthed, perhaps, even a church may start from the seeds of that day. It is awesome to see what God can do in peoples lives. It almost seems unbelievable that in America there are still so many, who like this young couple, had never before heard the plan of salvation. In the many outreaches we have done, we had not experienced such opposition from the enemy in the lead up to, or on the actual day of the event. At the end of the evening we understood why, because of the work the Lord would do. All of those who came made a commitment to Christ. Even the bus driver commented that the change could be seen on their faces! Jesus does make a difference.
Incredible Opportunities In Perilous Times:
Dickens once said, “it was the best of times and the worst of times”
No one is the same since the horror of September 11, 2001 unfolded before our eyes. Somehow everything is looked at from a different perspective. As tragic as the terrorist attacks were, it has given Christians an incredible opportunity to share the hope of the gospel. We have been seeing the Lord bring Mormons and even Muslims our way, and out of a religion, and into a relationship with Him the one true God. This is harvest time! We are all praying more, fasting more...and are more united than ever before. Our weapons are not carnal, but spiritual (Eph.6). The enemies’ plans are always built on sand. So, let’s remember we ARE on the winning side!
Many people are overcome with fear, to the extent, that they are afraid to leave their house or even go to work. People are depressed and many are even contemplating suicide. We’ve noticed that little
children are most affected.
At our last evangelistic outreach we had a Scottish piper play Amazing Grace as we gave tribute and acknowledged the heroes who gave their lives on that tragic day. We followed this with the message of salvation and a invitation to accept Christ. There were over 20 children who received Christ that day. We have been sensing a continual move of God in the children and youth. It has been glorious to see their zeal and fire of the Holy Spirit evident in their lives. They are so open and hungry for more of God.
Families In Mexican Prisons-
We have a new outreach that is ministering to entire families that live in Mexican prisons.
The conditions are so deplorable that most Americans cannot even imagine living in such a place. Women and children are imprisoned with their husbands because they have no where else to go. With your help Angels for Christ distributes bibles and tons of food every month. Many of those in prison are HIV positive and have AIDS. Since the prison food is terrible and can make them more ill than what they already are, bringing them good nutritious food gives us an open door to present the gospel to them.
Radio Ministry...The Urgency Is Now!
As we read the e-mails and respond to the telephone calls that come into our office each day, we sense a real urgency to do all we can while this door is
open.
We believe that the Lord is directing us to continue and expand our radio ministry. In order to reach more people around the world with the gospel message, your commitment to help support Angels for Christ is vital at this time. You can hear our program each Sunday in Southern California on KFSG, 93.5 FM, at 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
“If It Weren’t For Bad Luck, I’d Have No Luck At All...”
These depressing words were spoken by a twelve year old boy at one of our last evangelistic outreaches. We urged him to come and
be a part of the children’s meeting.
We told him that he might win a free scooter that we would be giving away. He said, “ No, I won’t be coming. You see, I never have any good luck, ever.” How incredibly sad to hear such a disparaging philosophy coming from a young boy. These comments became part of our message that day. When you live for Jesus, you don’t need luck, good or bad ever again. He is everything we will ever need, our hope, our helper...our future. We need to share that hope with a world that desperately needs to hear His words of encouragement and find His power in their lives.
Earth’s Sorrow Is Heaven’s Joy-
Jan Province went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2001.
She and her husband Roy were some of the first to support Angels for Christ Ministries. Jan had such a zeal and love for the Lord. She wanted to do all she could to help the children and those in need. She was an inspiration when she came with us on trips to Mexico to help the poor and needy. Jan’s life, her unique personality and the love she brought into many of our lives will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Surely there will be a line of people coming to see Jan as she meets them in heaven one day. They will say, “thank you for helping me, I came to know Jesus through you.” In 2 Cor. 9:9 we read,”Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be forgotten.”
Dynamic team!
We are so thankful for all of you who come out and selflessly volunteer your time at our outreaches.
We want to give special mention to Kathy, Debbie, Lynn, Norman, LeJoyce, Lori and our evangelist kids, Christian, Garrett & Joy. You are all an inspiration! Also, for those who so faithfully give each month to support this ministry, we know that the Lord sees what you do and how you give, from your heart without faltering. We are reminded of the words of Isaiah the prophet, when he said, “a generous man devises generous things, and by generosity he shall stand.”
In His Service,
Don & Carol Ann Waisanen
