Highlights of the Ministry Spring 2002

Outreaches Produce Amazing Results -
The world says that to be effective in whatever you do, "find a need and fill it." Jesus says, "fill their needs and they'll find Him." That's exactly what we do. We try to meet the needs of those who are lost, and by so doing, we are able to introduce them to Jesus.

We are always praying for witty inventions, something special that helps us convey our message more effectively. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, sometimes props illustrate the same message. We decided to build a little bridge to take to the outreaches. Cornerstone Masonry kindly made us one which we took to our Easter outreach. This little bridge was used to convey the message to children of crossing over from a life in sin to a life in Jesus. What a wonderful move of God we saw that day, as we shared the salvation message and told them how their name was written in the Lamb's book of life (Rev. 21:27). One of the most poignant moments came when we released a white dove (which represented the Holy Spirit) and saw it soar in the sky. From our outreach in Riverside county, we saw sixty-seven teenagers, children and adults cross over that little bridge as a symbol of their commitment to Jesus Christ.

There was a beautiful anointing as we questioned each one about the seriousness of their commitment to Jesus. We then opened a big white book and wrote their name in it, as an illustration of how their name is now written in God's book in heaven. That same day we had another outreach in Orange county where another twenty-eight people came to Christ.

Nothing To Give!
A man came to us at the end of our Easter outreach. He appeared to be very downtrodden, perhaps a recovering addict. He told us that he had just returned from work and was feeling bad, because he had nothing to give his four little girls for Easter.

Although we had given everything away, when we looked on our bus, miraculously, we found four bags which we stuffed with goodies! Then we gave him food and other things for his children to take back to the motel. He seemed completely overwhelmed by what we gave him. We said to him, "it's a pity that you weren't able to hear the message earlier." He paused for a minute with a tear in his eye and said, "I'm getting a message right now." After talking with him, we discovered he had been born again eight months ago and delivered from a life of drugs and alcohol. Christ proved His love for this man through our giving that day.

Follow Up Ministry:
We are often asked, "what happens to those we minister to?" Every person we come in contract with is important. We recognize the work of the enemy in trying to steal back those who have come to Christ, that is why discipleship programs are so important. We endeavor to involve local churches to disciple and embrace new believers in a concerted follow up program. It is vital that these people are mentored and assimilated into the body of Christ. By continuing to maintain close contact, we are also able to help them with their practical needs.

The Corruption of the American Child -
Recently, a program aired on television documenting all the corrupting influences on our children today. It seems some in the media are now recognizing how out of control the entertainment industry really is. Many Christian parents don't seem to realize that the Internet, music and movies are educating their children to embrace a harmful lifestyle. Many of these influences are definitely anti-God and open our children to sin and the bondage of the enemy. These influences are most dramatically seen in some of the children we minister to. They are born into an environment where they see the worst of societies depravity.

Child abuse, sexual exploitation and neglect are a fact of life for many of these motel children. They are exposed to drug abuse and sexual predators at a very early age. We've seen young girls, not even teenagers forced into prostitution. One young girl about twelve years-old that we've seen so many times living in a motel, looked different the last time we saw her. Gone was the face of innocence, gone was that sweet smile, something had happened to her, she looked damaged, hurt and confused...the child was gone. Often, we are the only kindness they ever know. Most will end up in foster homes. We may only have one chance to introduce them to Jesus, to share His love, His compassion, His saving grace...and His life changing power.

Islam Has No Answers!
The Muslim manager of one of the motels we go to told us after an outreach, "I just love you guys, you are like angels to me, I love to listen to you!" We told him that we were only obeying Jesus when we gave to the children and the poor. He looked around and said quietly, "I think I love Jesus more than I love Mohammed, I guess that means I'm not a very good Muslim." We said yes, "but you would make a very good Christian."

We asked him if he realized that Mohammed wrote the Qu'ran six hundred and twenty one years, after Jesus had already finished the work on the cross and died and rose again for our salvation. He seemed to take in everything that we said. We left him with the challenge to pray and ask Christ to come into his heart. He said he would. The Holy Spirit came in an unmistakable way as this man opened his heart and mind to fully receive Jesus. Only the love of Christ can draw a Muslim to Him. One day we hope to meet him in heaven.

Life Changing Work -
Many of our volunteers comment that being involved with Angels for Christ has dramatically changed their life. One man said that after working with the children, he discovered ministry that he did not know was in him and was blessed and thrilled. Saint Augustine was asked the question, "What does love look like?" He replied, "It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has the eyes to see sighs and sorrows. That is what love looks like."

Journalists' Report...Bible Prophecy Unfolds!
We had the privilege of interviewing award winning International British Journalist, Dan Wooding on a recent Angels for Christ radio program. This program was certainly one of the most informative, challenging and compelling accounts of persecution, terrorism and oppressive conditions faced by Christians around the world. If you would like a cassette copy of this powerful and unforgettable program, please call or write to us at the address below. Remember, listen to Angels for Christ on KBRT 740 AM, each Saturday night at 5:00 p.m.

Blessing Upon Blessings...
We covet your prayers every day. Spurgeon said, "let us be thankful for those praying friends who bring down a blessing upon us, by their intercession." The joy we experience by being part of the work that God is doing with Angels for Christ is beyond description. We continue to say"Send us Lord!". Thank you for making it possible!
