“They’re Back...The Church Is Here!”-
Shouts of joy and anticipation come from the line of little children, as they see the big blue Glory Bus approach to pick them
up. It’s one of the highlights of their week. These children look forward to our arrival because they know that we love them, more importantly, that Jesus loves them. Even some of the boys who come
from a horrible home environment, and were originally difficult to handle, are anxious to see us each week and want to go to church. We have seen an incredible transformation in many of these young lives.
Jesus has made the difference.
How Can I Be Saved?
This question was e-mailed to us from Godwin a young Nigerian man, who listens in Africa to our Angels for Christ radio program over World
Harvest Radio.
Each week thousands of people listen to Angels for Christ around the world. It is always a blessing when we receive e-mails from people who want to know more about Jesus. What a joy it was to be able to explain the plan of salvation and send a bible to this man, who was hungry to receive the gospel message. Godwin e-mailed us back that he had accepted Jesus and is now studying the bible that we sent him. People in other parts of the world are so open to the gospel. As soon as they hear the message of salvation, that Jesus loves them and can change their life, they open their heart to Him. Even here in America, people are searching for peace and happiness to fill the void that is within...only Jesus can meet their hearts need.
Tragic Deaths Of Children:
Most people can’t imagine the conditions that we find some of these children in.
Life can be very hard for them and is often perilous. Some of the families we deal with have as many as six people crammed into a tiny motel room. Recently, a baby in the care of a grandmother who was looking after several children, fell from a second story balcony and died. This tragedy happened just prior to our arrival. In another situation, a mother and her boy friend live together in one room with her three children. Their father is in prison and the older brother was just jailed because he punched his baby brother in the stomach and killed him.
A Witches Power Has No Affect!
God’s power can change and transform anyone, even a witch.
The mother of some of our children is a professing witch. She has always been hostile to the gospel, but has allowed her children to come to church. On Mother’s Day we brought her a box of chocolates. It’s interesting to observe that sometimes a small gift can make the difference in how people respond to the message, because now she is coming to church with her children.
From Grisly To Glory:
Ellen called last week to tell us that it has now been three years that they have had the same telephone number.
That may not seem like anything special, but for Ellen and her husband Jim, this was the longest that they had ever been in one place. You see, when we first met them we called Jim, Grisly, because he would growl when we spoke to him. He was a big fierce looking man with a wild beard and no front teeth. They were living under a bridge at the riverbed with their small children. Their lives were a nightmare of drugs and homelessness. One day in a park, we introduced them to Christ and He changed their lives completely. Jim is now clean, supporting his family and they are active in their local church. Praise God for His mercy and faithfulness!
The Jesus Movie...On The Bus-
Campus Crusade has just sent us a copy of the Jesus Movie for children. We plan to set up a television and video on the Glory Bus and show the movie to
children everywhere we go. This will be a wonderful tool to introduce children to Jesus Christ. The movie will be the focus of our new ministry outreaches as we broaden our evangelistic efforts to reach
more children and adults in various geographic areas with the gospel message.
Miss Clown, How Do I Find Jesus?
We have some wonderful ladies like Kathy, who come to these ministry outreaches
dressed in clown outfits.
Children always seem to respond to clown ministries. Wherever a clown goes, children seem to follow. An eleven year old girl whose mother was in jail, asked her how she could find Jesus? Kathy explained the plan of salvation, as the Holy Spirit melted her heart and she introduced her to Jesus the Savior that very day.
Thank You For Making This Ministry Possible!
Thank you for standing with us and supporting this work for our Lord. We appreciate your commitment to this ministry, especially during the
summer slump when there is a reduction in contributions. If you give to Angels for Christ, or volunteer your time and service, this is for you.
Jim Cymbala, pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, said it
best in a passage from his book, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire: “This is how it is with God’s mighty men and women they are famous in heaven, they win crowns that make all earth’s seem like cheap tinsel. They may
witness, teach, lead or pray in obscurity on earth, but they are the talk of heaven. In every century, on every continent, warriors such as these are the ones who press forward the kingdom of God. They
lay aside the distractions of life to do the exploits in the spiritual realm. Whether or not they become famous on earth is beside the point. They are heroes and heroines nonetheless!”
Our Mission Is Never Complete:
There is always so much more to be done.
Step by step we are expanding our outreaches and radio ministry, yet the job is never finished. Our mission is to be Angels for Christ, useful servants, to fulfill the scriptures that say, “He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy. For He will deliver the needy when he cries...and him who has no helper. He will spare the poor...and save the souls of the needy. He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; And precious shall be their blood in His sight.”
Psalm 72:4,12-14
Thank you for caring and supporting this ministry. You are not just giving to us, but giving through us.
In His Service,
Don & Carol Ann Waisanen
